Dear [name of the publication you're writing to]

Most of us feel upset when we see abused cats or dogs on TV, but we don’t even stop to consider the abuse involved in producing our dinner. All animals feel pain and all animals feel fear. Farmed animals are intelligent, beautiful creatures who are treated as consumable products rather than living beings. Every year, one billion animals face the barbarity of slaughter in Britain. I don’t want to be responsible for the abuse or slaughter of any animals, and that’s why I’m vegetarian. The average person eats 11,047 animals in their lifetime – the younger you go veggie the more you save! Vegetarians are healthier – less likely to suffer heart attacks, obesity and some cancers. It’s really easy to eat vegetarian, you can get meat-free sausages, burgers and much more! Most importantly though, you’ll know that innocent animals are not being killed to end up on your plate!

If you would like more information or to order a free go veggie pack please contact  Fiona at Viva!:  fiona@viva.org.uk or visit www.vivaactivists.org.uk

Yours for the animals
