"I'm totally against animal cruelty. I am vegetarian, so I don't have clothes, shoes or bags made from leather or suede or any animal products. I hate the thought of animals being killed just for our pleasure."
Leona Louise Lewis (born 3 April 1985) is a British singer, songwriter and animal welfare campaigner. She was born and raised in the London Borough of Islington, where she attended the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. In February 2007, Lewis signed a five-album contract in the United States with Clive Davis's record label, J Records (now RCA Records).
Lewis has been a vegetarian since she was 12; she won PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian along with Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis in 2008, and Europe's Sexiest Vegetarian in 2009 with actor Scott Maslen. She also was named PETA's Person of the Year for 2008. Lewis is a supporter of World Animal Protection and is a patron of Brentwood's Hopefield Animal Sanctuary.
