Joining a group is a great way to get involved, have fun and meet new people! There are animal rights groups all over the country – why not get involved with the one near you? Groups do a wide variety of different activities including leafleting, demonstrations and information stalls. Click here to see the list of Viva! contacts, get in touch with the one in your area and ask how you can help! They’ll be more than happy to hear from you!
If you fancy starting your own group, why not start a school/college club that meets at lunchtime or after school? You could hand out leaflets to other pupils and ensure people know the truth behind their school dinners! You could even campaign for better vegan/vegetarian options in your college canteen!
Have you got any veggie friends who would like to form a group with you? If not you could put posters up or start a social media account explaining that there’s a new youth veggie group in the area!
Once you’ve got some members you can start having meetings! Find somewhere safe to hold them and meet at a time when everyone is available. At the meetings you can discuss what you’d like to achieve and how you’d like to do it. For example, you could organise an information stall in your town centre where you can give out leaflets to the public, or perhaps you’d like to raise some money for Viva! with a sponsored silence!
